When I was in this situation, I recommended Ursula K. LeGuin&#039;s &quot;Gifts&quot; as a good intro to fantasy, because it&#039;s short, powerful, and beautifully written. That was only semi-successful; apparently the &quot;names were too weird.&quot;</description>
